The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of George Konopik can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Accordion Master

'Uncle' George, as he was known and identified by us, was a pleasure to be around. We love all our Whidbey relatives, and enjoyed visiting them in Coupeville and Oak Harbor over the years. We last spent time with Uncle George in October 2015, and he was so proud to show off his 'new' vintage Hohner Corona III accordion. We have many memories of him playing traditional European 'button' type squeeze boxes, and will miss hearing him play or talk about musical things he had planned with his groups, playing organ at the Lodge or solo ventures. Here are a couple of YouTube links of him playing the accordion: Last October - https://youtu.be/EVpnqFEKAgc And in 2009 - https://youtu.be/7mqMO9CvyQY We are so glad to have been lucky to get to know him better over the past years later in his life. He will be missed. Scott & Jo Sempeck Denver, Colorado
