Obituary for Diane Takasugi

Diane  Takasugi
Diane Takasugi passed away on November 6, 2013 at her home in Coupeville, WA. She was born on February 2, 1954 in Logan, UT to John and Taeko (Hayashi) Takasugi. She was the second of five children, and grew up on a family farm in Southwestern Idaho.
Diane graduated from Homedale High School and later attended the University of Chicago, where she received a BA degree in the College of Biological Sciences, and an MS in Clinical Nutrition. She also attended and received a high honors degree from the Culinary Institute of America. She worked over thirty years in the food service industry, and in her spare time enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, cooking and traveling. She was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Diane is survived by her mother Taeko; her sister Bonnie Takasugi and her husband Tom Stewart of Des Moines, WA; brother Douglas Takasugi and his wife Janda of Wenatchee, WA; brother David Takasugi of Citrus Heights,CA and nieces Jordan Michelle and Taylor Mackenzie Takasugi. She was preceded in death by her father, John, and brother Robert.
At Diane’s request there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oncology Clinic at Whidbey General Hospital, or the charity of choice. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
