Obituary for David M. Farrell-Garcia

David M. Farrell-Garcia
DAVID M. FARRELL-GARCIA
It is with broken hearts that our family returns David Farrell-Garcia to our Lord. David passed away suddenly on August 24, 2008, at his home in Oak Harbor. David was the most wonderful husband to Helen and a loving and caring father to his children, Nicholas, Michael and Olivia of Oak Harbor, Shelby of Nashville, TN and Alan and Bianca of Brownsville, TX, and grandfather to Gabriel, Travis and Cecelia of Brownsville, TX. He was a good and giving friend to many and will be greatly missed.
David enjoyed motorcycle riding with the North Cascade Harley Owners Group, which is where he met many of his cherished friends. For the past several years motorcycles were an ever present interest in David’s life. He had three Harleys in three years, so he was always searching for the perfect bike. However, the main attraction with motorcycles was meeting new friends with similar interest and sharing those interests with them. He enjoyed riding with his friends and they very much enjoyed riding with him. Most recently he began adventure riding and completed an off road rally on the Olympic Peninsula.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at Living Word, 490 NW Crosby Avenue, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations at any Whidbey Island Bank branch to the David Farrell-Garcia Memorial Fund. Arrangements are with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 675-5777. An online guest register may be signed by going to www.whidbeymemorial.com.
