Our vist to the Passion Play in Oberammergau.
The trip we took together with you Nelda, Frank, Angela, Sarah, Janet and myself. You all convinced me to come along to this very special event in Oberammergau, Germany, close to the Austrian border. We went there to see The Passion Play. This play is performed by the people of Oberammergau every ten years.
The Oberammergau Passion play was first performed in 1634 and is the result of a vow made by the inhabitants of the village that if God spared them from the effects of the bubonic plague than sweeping the region, that they would perform the Passion Play every 10 years. The last Passion Play was held in 2010 and will be performed again in 2020.
I'm so glad that I came along to see this very impressive and realistic play. Also the time spend together was very special.
