Obituary for Laruth Bomar (Vona Laruth Lynn)

Laruth Bomar (Vona Laruth Lynn)
LARUTH BOMAR

Vona "Laruth" Lynn Bomar went peacefully and surrounded by her loving family to her eternal home to be with Jesus on Friday, December 21, 2012. Laruth was born 12/27/37 in Littlefield, TX to Elbert and Pauline Lynn. She was the oldest of 5 kids, spent most of her growing up years in Bula and Meadow Texas. She graduated high school in Tatum, NM in 1957.

Laruth lived most of her adult life in Midland, Texas. She was married to Don O. Bomar and they had two children; Cindy Bomar Hellinger and Dobie Bomar.

She helped to start the S.P. C. A. in Midland, TX where she also served as board of directors and dedicated volunteer. She enjoyed speaking at elementary schools where she often brought reptiles, orphaned kittens with a bottle feeding demonstration and a cockatiel bird on her shoulder. Ed Todd, a retired reporter for the Midland Reporter Telegram, often asked her to let him know if she was going to bring her animal menagerie to a special location. He enjoyed interviewing and photographing Laruth with her animals in tow.

Laruth loved playing piano; gospel and country music were her favorites. She loved crewel embroidery, crafting hand stitched quilts and decoupage. She modeled the latest in Fall millinery in the 1960’s for the Midland Reporter Telegram Society page.

Laruth was well loved by her family. She is survived by her daughter Cindy and son-n-law; Thomas. Her grand children Aleisha and her husband Dan, Sarah and Caleb. Her son Dobie and grand children; Deven and Dillon. Her sisters Paulette and Pheleitha, brother Vonzell and his wife Jeanne.
