BELLE DAVIS
Belle Davis, age 89, of Oak Harbor, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at her home.
Belle was born on May 11, 1924, in LaVeta, Colorado, to Felix and Simonita (Lovato) Mestas. She attended schools in LaVeta, graduating from high school there. Belle moved to Los Angeles, CA, at the age of 18, eventually attending Cerritos College, where she received her Nursing Certificate and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. In 1982 she moved to Paso Robles, CA, and remained there until moving to Oak Harbor in 2004.
Belle was an avid Scrabble player. She enjoyed baking, especially pies. She had a deep love for the Lord and faithfully read and studied her Bible every day. Belle was an active member of the Southern Baptist Church in both Paso Robles and Oak Harbor.
Belle is survived by her four children: Stephen Davis (Gina) of Santa Ana, CA, Michael Davis (Rhea) of Henderson, NV, Carla Shores (Jerry) of Bellflower, CA and Paula Starkweather (Ron) of Sequim; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: Mike Davis, Jr. and son Jason Frankie Davis; Josh Davis (Kelly) and daughter Micaela; Zach Davis (Kris) and children Kylie, Ashton and Kara Belle Davis; Chad Shores (Terri) and children Randy and Crystal Shores; Justin Marrs; Amber Debler and Ashley Debler (Randy Stark)and children Kieryn and Chenelle Stark. She was preceded in death by grandson Jason Davis (1993) and by eight siblings.
A Memorial Service is set for Saturday, January 25, 2014, 2:00 PM at Oak Harbor Southern Baptist Church, Pastor Lemuel Villano officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
