LILA NELSON

Lila M Nelson, 92, of Oak Harbor, passed away on December 26, 2009, after a very short illness.

Lila was born on December 4, 1917 near Lignite, ND, to Fred and Muriel Pommier. Lila moved to Oak Harbor about 7 years ago to be near her daughter Mary Kay (Nelson) Dunnam who preceded her in October, 2009. Her husband, Carl Nelson preceded her in December of 1993. Lila is survived by her sons Bruce Nelson of Minneapolis, MN and Pete Nelson of Mill Creek, and her brothers Gaylen and James Pommier of Bremerton, Russell Pommier of Albany, OR, and sister Mavis (Pommier) Kalmback of Bremerton, Craig Dunnam (Son-in-Law) of Oak Harbor, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grand children.

Carl and Lila were married on March 14, 1936. Subsequent residences included Lignite, Kenmare and Columbus, ND, Chicago, IL, Park Rapids, Waterville and Minneapolis, MN, Miles City, MT, and Apache Junction, AZ.

Lila was a parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Oak Harbor and an avid member of the ladies guild. Lila loved to knit, crochet, and read. She will be missed by all including her very good friend Lee Newman in the church guild. In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.
