I met Ken in about 1981, as I was his replacement ST Tech. aboard the Peterson. Ken took me out for my first liberty in Italy and I really appreciated that. He would be responsible for my conduct as that was the rule back then. After I left the Navy in 1984 and settled in Norfolk I bumped into him again through my work. He invited me to his home to just kick back. I always thought Ken was unique. He also had some big snakes living with him. I also remember him talking later to my girlfriend (my wife now) about grams. My wife was a OT in the Navy. I think they were both claiming they were better than th other.
