Susan Kaelin
Ross, Sheila, Susan, and family,
I was saddened to learn of your mother's passing...just as I was saddened when I learned that she had Alzheimer's disease. I had hoped to visit her when she was still in Coupeville, but I haven't made it up there in a few years.
I really enjoyed working with Gerry! She was extremely bright and a strong, passionate teacher, who put in a great deal of time in her classroom. I well remember visits with her on Sunday afternoons; we talked about anything and everything.
Gerry was very proud of her daughters (and rightly so), and I know that she was looking forward to being a grandmother. I recall her having a bumper sticker about "granddogs," because she wasn't sure if/when those grandkids would arrive. I'm sorry that her grandchildren will not have the opportunity to know her as many of us did. I know she would have loved them greatly, and she would have taken great pride in each of their achievements! And she would have filled their lives with books! :)
My sincerest condolences to you all for we all mourn the loss of a special lady,
Susan Kaelin
