Debra Sherman
When I started teaching at Coupeville Elementary, Gerry was my mentor teacher. We taught third grade next door to each other and I have fond memories of those early days in my teaching career. She taught me a lot . . . and boy did we laugh! Gerry could tell a story. I remember her telling me -- with a smile-- that she guessed she could work with me even though I was a Republican. I attended many League of Women Voters nights with her and enjoyed the many discussions we would have following those evenings. She loved her family and always kept me up to date on what her girls were doing. She was so proud of the two of you! Losing a parent leaves an overwhelming sadness in the heart! You are in my thoughts and prayers.
