Barb and Manny

I first met Barb when she came to the Freeland Cat Cottage to adopt Manny.  She said that she was working on the WAIF website and kept seeing this silly face, which, of course, was Manny.  He was a challenge and Barb was up for it.  He was shy but extremely smart...after several attempts to place him in his carrier, off Barb went with him.  Manny blossomed in Barb's care...and she adored him...We would talk on the phone and she would share his many achievements.  Also sending us photos.  They were together four years (he had been at the Freeland Cat Cottage for three years, waiting for Barb).  Before Barb's passing, she asked if we could take him back, to a place where he was comfortable and where we could all love and care for him.  When I visited, I could tell it was such a difficult decsion, but she wanted me to see how he had improved.  He is now residing at the Cat Cottage...and what an unbelievable adjustment he is making.  He has completely settled into his environment...and he is much improved since he was adopted due to Barb's loving care.  People come in to visit him and Manny jumps out of this cage to greet everyone...he has a big window with a bird feeder and is truly holding court, charming everone with those big eyes.  Barb I know you would be so proud of him, he loved you so, and I also know you are looking down on him and us, it is just something I feel.
