After Barb was diagnosed with mesothelioma in October, 2013, we planned to have her come stay with us for the Christmas holidays. She decided to bring her Maine Coon cat Jasmine with her. Jasmine hated to travel in the car but once she got to our house, she settled right in and made herself at home. When Barb saw how much we enjoyed having Jasmine with us, she decided to give Jasmine to us in the spring of 2014. This was an ultimate act of kindness since Jasmine was one of Barb's favorite cats. Barb had been given less than a year to live and she wanted to make sure Jasmine was in a good home. We proceeded to spoil Jasmine and make her our "baby" and Barb took great delight in this. She loved it when I sent her pictures of Jasmine and told her stories of things she was doing. We would smile together and laugh at Jasmine's quirks like getting on the table and constantly meowing or trilling when we talked to her. Jasmine has given us such joy and now we feel honored to remember Barb by caring for Jasmine and now her "sister" Molly.
