Condolence From: Anna Rientjes
Condolence: It is with both joy and grief that I share memories of Rod, my nephew and friend. He was a charmer, even as a little boy, with a contagious smile and quick wit. I remember Rod’s thoughtfulness and the way he would give you his full attention, asking questions and wanting to fully understand what you meant. He greatly encouraged me when I, at an advanced age, went back to college saying that I was up to the challenge. Rod loved to learn; he got his pilot’s license and gave me a ride over our neighborhood that I will never forget.
Rod suffered greatly after a near-fatal motorcycle accident that changed his life in many ways. When I think of his life, I see it in two chapters – before and after the accident. It grieves me to think of the profound confusion and distress he endured for years, but it gives me great joy to know that he is whole, well, and safe at home with the Lord now. He was greatly loved and will be missed, but we look forward to a grand reunion with no more tears one day!
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Condolence: Rodney was our sweet cousin, and a loving boy and man. He always had a warm smile and greeting that warmed our hearts. Rodney loved our kids, and we delighted in watching him play with them. We are sending heart-felt wishes for healing and love to his entire family.

Condolence: Rodney was the nephew of my late husband Sam and myself and cousin to our Chris and Greg. My strongest memories of Rodney will be of his essential goodness and his great bravery in facing the extraordinary challenges in his adult life. Though he is gone our love for him remains and as a poet reflected on his own eventual passing, "...when you need me put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me."

Condolence: I knew Rod through church and got to know him better this past year when he bought the camper van from me. We visited a lot, primarily about the fun of camping and his plans to use the van. Have missed his presence at church lately. We will continue to miss him. Rod, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: I want to extend the condolences from the Riverton Park United Methodist Church congregation in Tukwila. Rod had been a faithful participant in our ministries here - working in the food pantry, joining for community meals, and attending worship. We are deeply saddened at his death and keep his family and friends in our prayers. Please let me know if we can do anything to assist.

Condolence: I extend my warmest condolences to you and your family. It hurts so much to loose a dear loved one. Please find your comfort through the scriptures and be reminded of God's promise to you to soon remove mourning and death from the earth found at Revelation 21:3,4.
