Obituary for Richard Ivan "Rick" McAlpine

Richard Ivan "Rick" McAlpine
Rick lost his hard-fought battle on the evening of November 1st with his loving wife Penny by his side. Rick spent the last months surrounded and loved by his wife, children, parents, brothers and sister, and friends.
Born in Winnipeg, Canada, and raised in Tujunga, California, Rick grew up an avid fisherman and baseball fanatic. Rick was a great 3rd-baseman for the Tujunga Phillies and was looking forward to coaching his grandson in Little League. Rick was an amazing guy, who always made you smile.
Rick is survived by his wife Penny of 23 years and their two children Richard and Elizabeth, son-in-law Marcus and grandson Carlo. He is also survived by his parents Mitzi and Murray, brothers Jim and Ken, sister Coreen, and extended family and friends. Words can’t express how much he is loved and will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at the American Legion Hall, 690 SE Barrington Dr., Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
