I am sorry to hear of Ray's death. We worked together on the flight trainers for several years. When I changed ratings and went to sea, I lost touch with Ray. The best part of working with Ray, was his sense of humor. He told wonderful stories about people he had worked with during his years as a sailor. I was always amazed at his patience when playing out a practical joke. I knew of several jokes that he waited several weeks before pulling the string on the punch line. He was very generous with his time when it came to helping his friends. No project was too big or complicated for him not to wade right in and make things work again. I guess he was just living his religious beliefs. I am happy that I had a chance to work with Ray and call him friend.
