Paul Medford Miller was born June 24, 1932 in Oakland, CA to Art and Marie Miller. He lived most of his growing up years in the Oakland and Long Beach areas. It was in those preteen years that he was introduced to Jesus by his neighbor, Ann Singleton, a Sunday School teacher at the Nazarene Church.

Paul attended Pasadena Nazarene College and graduate school at University of California, Berkeley. It was in those years that he was involved with Mosswood Children's Theater that included many of the creators of the original Muppets, Vagabond Puppets directed by David Carradine, Robert Darling, Jim Henson and Frank Oz. Theatre and writing have been major influences in his life. He acted, directed and was involved in radio. In 1957, he married Aletha and was called to be the pastor at Cambrian Park Church of the Nazarene. Their first child, Timothy Dumas, was born 1959. Their daughter, Lisa Marie, came in 1961. Both were born in San Jose.

In 1962, Paul was offered a position at Nazarene Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri by lifelong family friend, Paul Skiles. He began work in the Nazarene Young People's Society creating the Conquest youth magazine.

In 1974-75 Paul transitioned to the role of General Director of Teen/Young Adult Fellowship. Then in 1975 he pioneered the work of Media Productions in the Communications Department at Nazarene Headquarters. In was during all those headquarters years that he had the opportunity to travel to over 50 countries, many times with his family in tow, speaking at youth camps, working on film projects and representing the church at conventions.

In 1979, Paul was invited by Bud Lunn to join Nazarene Publishing House as Director of Corporate Affairs and later Lillenas Drama Resource Director. It was also during those years that Paul was involved with church life at Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene as a board member, teaching the "no name class" of college and seminary students, and directing "First Drama Ensemble".

As an author, editor and compiler, Paul is responsible for more than 25 books, scores of film scripts, and countless articles, both in and out of the field of theatre.

Retirement brought Paul to move closer to his children in Washington State. In May of 2009, he moved to Whidbey Island where Ben & Lisa pastor Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene. He loved on the people of OHNaz by teaching Sunday School, directing dramas, answering phones and being a friend. He loved getting outside to enjoy the sights of the Pacific Northwest and traveling with his family. He continued writing with occasional assignments from publishers and keeping in touch with loved ones in his monthly "friends & family newsletter".
Paul touched many lives for the gospel, especially young people, through his speaking, at summer camps and a lifetime of writing.

Paul is survived by his 2 children, Tim Miller and his wife, Donna of Kennewick, WA; Lisa and her husband, Ben Norris of Oak Harbor, WA.
