LUIS FERNANDEZ
Luis Fernandez, age 47, longtime Longview resident, passed away on July 17, 2013, in New York City.
Luis was born on December 20, 1965 in Kingsville, Texas. He lived in the Longview-Kelso area for 45 years and graduated from R.A. Long High School. He was employed as an artist, tattoo artist and chef. Luis enjoyed preaching and learning the Word of Jesus Christ, singing karaoke, cooking, and helping others in need. He had a special love for animals, especially lost or stray dogs. He was artistically creative, painted murals on buildings, was fun loving, spiritually driven, funny, eager to learn and willing to help others in need. He was always feeding the hungry and had a love for the Lord.
Luis is survived by his mother, Camelia Gutierrez of Oak Harbor; his father, Tony Fernandez of Chicago, IL; three brothers: Angel A. Fernandez in Washington, Genio Fernandez of Longview and David Fernandez of Oak Harbor; one sister, Camelia Jensen of Longview; five nieces: Angel Ann Broon, Summer Brodie and Makayla Fernandez, all of Longview; Mariah Despain of Oak Harbor and Serenity B. Fernandez of Clinton; four nephews: Genio Despain of Oak Harbor and David Fernandez, Jr., Harley J. Fernandez and Julio T. Fernandez, all of Clinton; four great nephews: Franky and Anthony Dillard, Little James and Genio Despain Jr.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2014, 3:30 PM at Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene, 1100 W. Whidbey Ave., Dr. Benjamin Norris officiating.
