LEONA GUYLA ROUSE
Leona Guyla Rouse, age 71, longtime Oak Harbor resident, passed away at Whidbey General Hospital on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
Leona was born in Chappell, Nebraska, on July 13, 1944, to Earl and Alberta (Jacobson) Crum. She moved with her family to Prosser, where she graduated from high school. Leona married Leon Wright on March 17, 1962. The couple moved to Kennewick, where they began to raise their family. Leon, along with his brother, was killed in an auto accident in 1967. Subsequently, Leona moved her family to Oak Harbor. She attended the Oak Harbor Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing as a pastime.
Leona is survived by her three sons: Dennis Wright (Bonnie) of Oak Harbor; Daryl Wright of Puyallup and Darren Wright of LaConner; five grandchildren: Leon, Brandon and Ryan Wright, Dillon Kusserow and Laleisha VonKucerov; a brother, Bill Peterson (Bev) of Arizona, a sister Donna Martinez (RC) of Texas and a half-sister Tony Kielstra of Yakima.
A Memorial Service will take place Friday, June 17, 2016, 1:00 PM. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of choice.
