I haven't seen or spoke to John or his family for years, but I'm still very saddened by his death. 15 years old is far too young to go; having my fair share of pre-mature family deaths, I sympathize completely. It's being reported that there's no evidence of him being bullied or harassed at school, but I remember being that age and being harassed over my sexuality and who I was as a person. It isn't a fun place to be in and I can tell you that most times, involving school authorities usually makes things worse. I'm only saying this to give light to the situation that many other kids are going through as well. Just because it isn't being reported, doesn't mean it isn't happening. I wish I was there for even a day to help him through his struggles, because I've been there as well and sometimes that's all we need to move on. To know that others have been through the same, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I will always remember his smile; energy, and outgoing spirit.
