Condolences

Condolence From: Steve Gramling
Condolence: Uncle Jim shared his love of the outdoors with me... but not his love of math (which I still don't really understand). Through many trips to Spring Canyon over the years I was able to not only better enjoy the outdoors and all of the activities that go along with it, but was also able to get to know my uncle better as I saw his joy at these activities. One of the staples of my memories involving Jim was his old grey Metro with the "I'd rather be riding the train" bumpersticker that I would always think was a little odd to have on a car. I think that that describes him well though... a little odd. A little quirky, but with a brilliant mind and the ability to put people (or at least his three young nephews) at ease. From my earliest memories involving him he always seemed to know exactly who he was, and never compromised or sacrificed his integrity to better fit the whole, which was good because his ideas were usually much better, or at least much more thought out. While I didn't see him as often as I'm sure I should have, as is often the case, I feel very blessed to have the memories that I do and am glad for the times that I had with him.
With love,
~ Steve

Condolence From: Baby Sister
Condolence: Dear Jim, I miss you so much! Family get-togethers will never be the same. You were my first friend and playmate and I owe you so much! Thank you for being such a great brother and a wonderful uncle to my boys. I so very much appreciate the many times you came camping with us, which made it so much easier for me! The photos and memories of camping trips and cookouts at Spring Canyon and on Lake Sammamish (and Mt. Cardigan and Little Good Harbor Beach when we were young!) I will treasure forever! With Love Forever & Always, Baby Sister
