CHRISTINE LEE “CHRIS” OSWALT
Christine Lee Oswalt. age 63, of Greenbank, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Providence Medical Center in Everett after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Chris was born in Tucson, Arizona, on June 23, 1951, to Albert and Margaret (Childs) Kerland. She attended Tucson schools and graduated from E.L. Wetmore High School. She later graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Chris served as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines for twenty years.
Chris was married to Curtis Oswalt on May 25, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona, and the couple resided in the Phoenix area before moving to Whidbey Island in December 1998, where they settled at their home in Greenbank. She enjoyed riding pleasure horses and boating with her husband and friends.
Chris is survived by her husband Curtis, at home; her step-mother Katherine “Katie” Kerland of Wichita Falls, TX; two step-children: Curtis Oswalt Jr. of Chandler, AZ and April Lynn Oswalt of Payson, AZ; also, by a granddaughter, Chantelle Marie Tani of Payson, AZ.
In keeping with Chris’ wishes, no services will be held. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
