BRUCE HOWARD WALLEN
Bruce Howard Wallen, age 90, longtime Seattle resident, passed away at his home in Coupeville on Monday, May 6, 2013.
Mr. Wallen was born in Seattle. He attended Seattle schools, graduating from Lincoln High School. Then he entered the US Army and served his country during World War II.
After the war, he married Virginia. They built a home in Edmonds, where they raised their three children.
He married Donna in 1980. They resided in North Seattle and on weekends spent their time in their home they built in Coupeville.
Bruce was a member of the VFW and the Elks.
Bruce is survived by his three children: Judy Porteous (John) of Snohomish, Darrell Wallen (Cindy) of Coupeville and Jo Ann Redenius (Tim) of Arlington; six grandchildren: Jacob and Lanna of Mukilteo, Vanessa (Nathan) of Bellingham, Melissa (Jorgen) of Monroe, Seth of Coupeville and Tawna and Cera, both of Arlington; four great-grandchildren, Rogue, Gavin and Logan and Lilly.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013, 1:00 PM, at the American Legion Hall, 22909 56th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace, WA. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
