Nell was my Mother Advisor when I was in the Masonic youth group, Rainbow Girls in Enumclaw. She used to call us "Her Girls" since she only had sons. It made me feel wanted and welcomed. A few decades later, I found myself a Mother Advisor of the Auburn Rainbow Girls. After my first uncomfortable night chaperoning a sleepover, I wrote Nell a letter thanking her for all the nights she slept on the floor so we, her girls, could have fun and be safe on a Friday night. She wrote back that it was her pleasure, she'd do it again. I know she would. After she moved to back to Washington, I was able to go see her. She recognized me as one of her girls as soon as I came into the room. Mrs. Bannister, Nell, I am glad you got to meet my little girl. You asked to come to her Rainbow initiation. I am sorry you won't be there in person, but I know you will be there in spirit. Thanks for the memories. Love, your Rainbow Girl, Deana
