Kathie Ann Baker, nee Hill, 53 was murdered at her home in Greenbank, Whidbey Island, WA.
Kathie was born July 24, 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Barbara and David Hill. She grew up mainly in Boulder, CO.

Kathie had a Contract Major with emphasis in Computer Science and Meteorology from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1990, and a Masters in Software Engineering, Regis University in 2010. Kathie was a meteorologist for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, then worked for Raytheon as a computer software engineer in Denver and Antarctica. Kathie was one of only 12 women to ever winter at the South Pole. Kathie traveled extensively for her work, going to Cairo Egypt, Warsaw Poland and many other points.

Kathie is survived by her brothers David V. Hill and his fiancé Melody Hartman, and Richard A. Hill and his fiancé Audrey Fierro, all of Colorado, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws throughout the country and many, many dear friends and co-workers.

Kathie was preceded in death by her father David Vitamir Hill, mother Barbara Lorraine Hill and older brother James W. D. Hill III.

There will be a memorial and celebration of Kathie’s life on August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bergen Park Church, 1318 County Road 65, Evergreen, CO, to be attended by friends, family and co-workers.
