TOM TONY L. HALL
Tom Tony L. Hall, age 77, longtime Oak Harbor resident and retired US Navy AO1, passed away at Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
Mr. Hall was born in Kilgore, Texas on May 18, 1937. He graduated from high school there. After high school, Tom entered the US Navy, serving over twenty-two years and retiring at NAS Whidbey Island as an AO1. Tom received a Masters Degree in law enforcement from Washington State University.
Tom married Elnora Sams on December 20, 1981, in Stanwood. The couple resided in Oak Harbor. Following his military service, he was employed for many years by the City of Oak Harbor and by the Oak Harbor Police Department. He was a member of the House of Prayer. Tom had been a Sensei in karate, and enjoyed baseball and football. He enjoyed working with youth. He was known as a gentle and kind man.
Tom is survived by his wife Elnora, at home in Oak Harbor; eight children: Russell Eugene Sams and wife Elaine of Las Vegas, NV, Malcolm Sams and wife Kara of Bellingham, Anthony Hall, Jr., of Ukiah, CA, Michael Hall of Washington, Tony Hall of Shoreline, Mia Hall of Washington, Tressa Hall of Tacoma and Katrese Bush and husband William of El Paso, TX; also, by nine grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 28, 2015, 1:00 PM, at the House of Prayer, 620 Erin Park Road, Oak Harbor, Bishop Charles Boyles, Jr., officiating. . Military Honors will be under the auspices of the NAS Whidbey Honor Guard. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
