Obituary for Steven Krieg Johnson

Steven Krieg Johnson
Born November 19, 1984 in Pendleton, Oregon to Jeffery Scot Johnson and Kathryn Irene White-Johnson-Smith passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 28, 2015, in Oak Harbor, Washington. He was 30 years old. He leaves behind his fiancé, Crystal Saveall and their 18-month-old daughter Rebel Johnson and his son Adam. His mother and father; Kathy Smith and Jeff Johnson; as well as his stepparents Judy Pierce-Johnson and Steve Smith; his older brother Chris Johnson of Abilene, Texas and older sister Tara Johnson of Oak Harbor, Washington survive Steven.

He was a groundskeeper at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Steven loved fishing and spending time with his family. He grew up in Butte, Montana where his love for fishing developed on Georgetown Lake outside of Anaconda, Montana and followed him throughout his life. As a young avid angler you could catch him on the Columbia River sturgeon fishing out-fishing anyone with him. As a young teen he moved to Oak Harbor and instantly fell in love with the fishing the island had to offer. You could catch him at one of his many spots along the shores of Whidbey Island. He also enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephews, Alyssa, Justin, and Cody as well his baby girl Rebel. He dedicated his entire life to his family, especially to his fiancé, their daughter, and anyone else he considered family.

He was a diehard fan of Seattle sports especially the Seahawks and Mariners. He enjoyed watching the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII as well as watching the Mariners compete for the AL West Pennant annually. He loved watching the games with friends and family and tormenting any opposing fans. He always held a competitive nature in life that transferred over to all aspects of his life.

He touched many lives in his young life that many will never forget. He was always there for those in need and his selflessness will be passed on through those who knew him. He was always dedicated and giving and enjoyed his job at the cemetery where he worked.

Memorial services will be held at the Maple Leaf Cemetery on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM followed by a reception at VFW Post 7392 in Oak Harbor, Washington. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
