Obituary for Shawntal Elizabeth Williams
MINISTER SHAWNTAL ELIZABETH WILLIAMS Minister Shawntal Elizabeth Williams, age 41, of Oak Harbor, was a treasure to this world. She graced the earth with her beautiful spirit on the early morning of November 12, 1978 in Wilmington, DE. Born to Deborah Elaine Phillips and Marvin Allan Williams. The sun went down in our world when Shawntal gracefully bowed out to her heavenly father on the fateful night of February 2, 2020 at her home in Oak Harbor, WA.
Shawntal was a long-time resident of Oak Harbor, moving to the island in 1980. She was raised in Oak Harbor her entire youth. Shawntal grew and flourished in Oak Harbor School District from kindergarten and successfully walked across the stage with Oak Harbor High School graduating class of 1997. Shawntal had a deep passion for Christ and it even showed through her higher education career, which was at Dominion Bible College in Federal Way, receiving an AA in Bible Ministry Studies. Years later, God led her in a different educational path when Shawntal attended Pima Medical Institution in Seattle successfully receiving her Medical Assisting Certification. And who better than Shawntal to be in this career path, with her magical presence, kind face, soft spirit, and caring hand.
Since the tender age of 11 years old, Shawntal gave her life to the lord in her early church home of Full Gospel Christian Center. In 1997, Shawntal's family became an active member of Living Faith Christian Center in Oak Harbor, WA. Shawntal devoted her life to the ministry and her community. Shawntal not only loved serving her church family, she also served her immediate family and the community as well. She was involved in a host of ministries including; praise and worship team, finance and administration, amongst many other hats.
Her passion for the Lord was beautifully expressed through the medium of music and dance, a skill she began preparing for since early childhood. Over the years Shawntal was able to minister in song through many avenues including her association with gospel group True Horizon. Essentially, Shawntal had a deep love for the Lord, and for her family. She never wavered in her intensity for Christ, for her family, for her church family, or for her community. Shawntal loved with an unconditional love, one that only God could bestow upon an individual. This love exuded in her everyday presence.
Shawntal is survived by her father Carl Phillips, Sr.(Vickie) of Oak Harbor, WA; four sisters: Carlesha Phillips of Glen Burnie, MD, Natasha Williams (Leonard) of Marysville, WA, Theresa Cain, and Elizabeth Williams; three brothers: Marvin Williams, Jr. of Smokey Point, WA and Carl Phillips, Jr. of Seattle, and Esa Washington; Aunts: Kathleen Brown and Charlene Cormier (Casley); Uncles: Charles Simmons, Tyrone Simmons (Maggie), Marzel Simmons, and Ronald Brown. Along with a host of cousins, nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Deborah Elaine Phillips, Grandmother Lelia May Simmons, Grandfather Charles Simmons, Grandmother Elizabeth Williams and Cousin Ronnie Solomon.
