Obituary for Neil Coleman

Neil Coleman, age 73, died of natural causes on July 6, 2016 in Bellingham, WA. He was born in Ogden, Utah on April 2, 1943 to Floyd Coleman and Constance (Bench) Coleman. He graduated from Ogden High School in Ogden, UT in 1961. In 1960, he married Joy Elizabeth Sanders. They had three children together but divorced after 38 years of marriage.

Neil graduated from Weber State College in Ogden, UT with a degree in the Aircraft Associated Program in 1968. He then worked at Hill Air Force Base near Clearfield, UT for many years. He later transferred to Morton-Thiokol in northern Utah, where he worked in the space shuttle program, of which he was very proud. His work had him working and living in several different states, including Utah, Wyoming, and North Dakota. He worked at Morton-Thiokol until he retired. In 2004, he moved to Bellingham, WA to be closer to his children.

Neil loved to go hunting, fishing, camping and basically anything outdoors. He enjoyed building things and was quite a good carpenter. He spent his retirement years traveling in his RV, visiting many national parks and monuments. We have so many great memories of going fishing, hunting and camping with our dad. He taught us so much during those times.

He is survived by his three children, Carrie Coleman (Joara Minharo), Christine Coleman, Curtis Coleman, his granddaughter Taylor Coleman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Beverly Ozmun, Valene Crumpley and Ronald Coleman.
