9/29/1931 – 1/15/2022
Our beloved Nancy Johnson was known by many for all the same attributes. During her long 90 years on this earth, she had so much joy just visiting and treating herself and others to lunch or dinner out. Her generosity with friends, children and grandchildren was such a special experience as she never neglected to remind us of all that, "You can’t take any of it to heaven, so cheers to the memories"!
We will all miss her so.
During her long 90 years on this earth, she endured many unique hardships including THE GREAT DEPRESSION itself, the loss of her mom to an auto accident at age 18, her husband Emmett in 1990 and later her two oldest sons, Jeffrey, and Douglas.
She blessed everyone’s life with an uncanny ability to therapeutically listen without judging. Possessing only a high school diploma, it was as if she was a trained counselor. This one attribute alone will forever leave a solid void in our lives.
Gratefully, she realized as the years rolled on that Jesus is all anyone needs. A few of her favorite teachers were Pastor Matthew Chambers of South Whidbey Assembly of God, Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel, Chino Hills, and Jerry Arnold of Collegedale Tennessee. She took pages of notes on all 3 Bible teachers and earnestly tried to apply God’s character to her journey here.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Missy Shelley, her two daughters Ramona Lynn Getman and Teresa Ann Shelley. Also, her cherished grand kids, Felicia Marie Cisneros, Chanda Lynn Festa, Grant Douglas Johnson, Andrea Lynn Day, David Benjamin Domine, Gabriel Whelan, Gideon Lanuel, Linnea Grace, Jordan Meloawl, Isaac Franklin, Simon Tamrat, and Banchegize Lucyann Shelley.
She was blessed with six great grandchildren, Alexis, Arianna, Angelina Cisneros, Michaela Hansen and finally Makenna and Elaina Shelley. Her latest and first, great-great grandson is none other than the precious one and only, Logan David Witt.
Nancy Johnson loved fun, good clean, memorable fun. She enjoyed The Red Hat Society and was a unique and concerned friend to each and every member.
As they years rolled by, she lost eyesight in one eye but still was able to finish a good mystery novel like John Grisham in a week.
Surprisingly, as technology raced on, she kept her step with YouTube crafts, email, and Facebook. She amazed everyone closest to her with her clear progressive mind.
Most of all Nancy was a cheerful and generous giver never expecting repayment from anyone. Period.
She lived her life with well missed gracious and humble humility.
We already miss you Mom, Grammy, Nancy, GG. Enjoy every second with Jesus....
