Obituary for Lori Kay Williamson

Lori Kay Williamson, age 59, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully after a brave battle with cancer on August 2, 2020 with family by her side. She was born September 3, 1960 to the late George and Clairine Lambert in Los Angeles, California. Lori graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1979, then attended
Evergreen Beauty College. She worked in that field before moving to Astoria, Oregon where she met and married her husband, Gary Williamson on September 17, 1994. She worked alongside her husband for many years and was an amazing stepmother to Gary’s three children. Lori was then blessed with two daughters who were the joy of her life.  Lori’s kind spirit continues to live on within all her children. Lori moved back to Oak Harbor to be near family and started working at the Oak Harbor School District, where she was employed for 15 years.  Her love for children truly showed; she was patient, kind and understanding.  She had a knack for working with children and both she and the students she encountered flourished in this environment.
Lori was the kind of person that never judged anyone she met.  She saw the good in everyone. She was compassionate and made all around her feel like they were someone special. Lori’s strength and spirit encouraged friends and family to persist when faced with challenges in life. Lori will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Lori is survived by her husband, Gary; her daughters: April, Ellie, and Hailey; her sons Christopher and Jeremy; her brothers Rick Lambert and Jeff (Mary Jo) Lambert; her sister in law Susie (James) Coffin, her Aunt Kay Gage; cousins David Sherman and Tara McMillian; grandchildren: Melany, Riley, Ivan, Rachel, Ashlee, Andrew, Aaron, Pace, Nathen, Kai, Harper and Eleanor; her sweet nieces Crystal and Kelsey; and her nephew Matthew.
Please join the family in a Celebration of life in honor of Lori on August 12, 2020 at 7pm at Blue Fox Drive-in Theater. Please wear masks when outside your vehicles. There will be a slideshow presentation starting around 8:45pm.
Arrangements have been made with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service.
