Linda duBree was born on March 3, 1921 in a farmhouse on Bristol Road in the Township of Warrington in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Her Mother, Sadie Ruth was a schoolteacher and her father Howard Cadwallader was a dairy farmer. Howard passed away at the height of the great depression and her mother later remarried Walter duBree. Walter moved the family to Phoenix, Arizona and opened a building supply company. Linda completed high school in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from Phoenix Junior College. She was later employed by the Internal Revenue Service, first in Phoenix, later in Salt Lake City, Utah and finally in Fresno, CA where she retired in 1977 after 30 years of service.
During her working years, and into retirement, Linda enjoyed traveling. She visited many sites in the United States, including several visits to Hawaii as well as visiting countries abroad, including the British Isles (England, Scotland and Wales), Canada, Mexico City, Guadalajara, and both South and Central America.
In 2010, Linda moved to Jacksonville, FL to be near family and lived with her nephew Walter and his wife Vickie Cadwallader. Linda moved with them to Whidbey Island WA in 2014 and resided at Harbor Towers in Oak Harbor until COVID at which time she moved into the home of her nephew and his wife Vickie.
Linda is predeceased by her birth Mother and Father, Sadie and Howard Cadwallader, her adoptive father, Walter duBree, her older brother, Charles Corson Cadwallader, and younger brother, Wilbur Walter. Linda is survived by her nephews, Walter Cadwallader, Charles Cadwallader, James Cadwallader, and her niece, Barbara Barnes, and a host of great (and great-great) nieces and nephews.
Walter and Vickie will travel to Phoenix, Arizona to bury her next to her Mother, as was Linda’s wish.
