Obituary for Julia Harriet Wagatsuma
Julia Wilkerson Wagatsuma, 79, of Honolulu Hi, died Nov. 19, 2020 in Freeland, WA.
Julie was born February 26, 1941 in Olathe, KS. She married Wayne Wagatsuma on June 21, 1998.
Wayne survives at their home in Freeland. Other survivors include her children, Wanda Roe and Dee Caudillo; two grandchildren, Tiane Caudillo and Jennifer Brown; six great grandchildren, Kekoa, Kristen, Wyatt, Willow, Savannah, and Cooper; and one great great-grandchild Kai.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marian Wilkerson, and sister, Sally Job.
Julia obtained her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Washburn University in Topeka, KS and her Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. She worked as a social worker her entire career. She concluded her career by retiring from the State of Hawaii in 2006. She also was AWOL every tax season as she prepared taxes for H&R Block until 2010. Julia loved Hawaii. The music, the hula dancers, the weather and the beauty and magic of the Hawaiian Islands.
