Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joseph Sires can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Metal Shop

For those of us who attended metal shop ( especially the class of 76,77 & 78 ) Mr Sires probably left a perminate impression on us not only as a teacher and  mentor, but a genuine caring man. It took a special person to control the boys of Oak Harbor, and Mr Sires did just that. I remember how guys would come in during lunch and after school to work on a number of projects- but mainly to listen to Mr Sires  help them work through there design of fabrication challanges. I remember having all these grand ideas of things I wanted to make on my own, and it was Mr. Sires who suggested I take a step back and design these items first to work out all the bugs. Advice that I still practice today. I admired all the things Mr. Sires made, which inspried all who took his class to be designers and fabricators ourselfs. Oak harbor School District had a great teacher in Mr.Sires, and Island County had a great man as well. Rest in peace Mr. Sires.
