Obituary for James Edward Buss

James Edward Buss, age 70, passed away on May 4, 2017, from complications with the flu. He was born on November 12, 1946, in Billings, Montana. He shared many stories about his home there and visiting the Boggio and Burnett ranches in Red Lodge. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Buss, mother Pearl Buss, and brother, Gerald Buss. The family enjoyed many adventures and homes in Arizona, California, and finally, Washington State. He graduated from Bellevue High School and his first job was at the Pancake Corral. He enjoyed his work in the restaurant industry, working as a bartender at the Sirloin Inn and then the Sheraton, both in Renton. There, he met his wife. They bought a home in Renton and raised two kids. He worked at several restaurants and hotels over the years, including the Red Lion, Hilton, Red Robin, Anthony's, Buzz Inn, and he retired from Cedars at the Tulalip. He is survived by wife, Charlotte Buss, daughter Tammy Alejandre, son Thomas Buss (wife Julie), and his grandchildren, Joaquin and Julia Alejandre, and Fischer and Autumn Buss. In his retirement, he took advantage of spending lots of time with his grandchildren, taking a several road trips, golfing, fly fishing, and trying new recipes.

By his desk, he left a note: "Trust, integrity, commitment. If you have these three things, you have it all." Words of wisdom from a loving man. He will be missed.
