Evelyn Jean Peterson was born December 21, 1928 in Seattle WA. The family moved to Kent where her father Pat owned & operated Valley GMC & Ellis Motors. Her mother Marge was a homemaker raising 3 boys Val, Pat & Mickey and 3 girls Margie, Jean & Mary. Jean attended Kent high school where she met the love of her life Walt Peterson. They built a home in Burien where they raised 4 boys Steve, Alan, Chris & Gary.
Walt was a contractor & Jean helped him with his business books. Her first love after Walt was raising children. She looked after many children while their parents were at work, always treating them like her own. She taught PE at St Francis and helped coach the track team. She would try to attend every event her children or grandchildren participated in. She loved spending time with her family and friends at their cabin at Mason Lake. When she had to move out of her family home in Burien, she moved to an assisted living facility in Kent. From there she moved to Whidbey island to be closer to Gary & his family. She passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019, twenty-six days after her 90th birthday. Thankfully she was able to celebrate her 90th birthday with family and friends in early December.
