Obituary for Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Fant

Elizabeth Ann Fant was born on February 4th, 1933, to Lionel and Leona Bening. Elizabeth was born in Winona, Minnesota and was one of five children. She passed away comfortably, surrounded by family on November 1st, 2021.

Elizabeth- or Betty as she often went by when she was younger- grew up in Winona and met her husband Arthur Fant there as well. They were married in 1954 and had one son that October named Duane. The three of them moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota and lived there for many years. Later in life, Betty and Art retired on beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington state.

Since she was old enough to hold a needle, she was sewing. Elizabeth was not only a talented quilter, but also maintained the most beautiful gardens. She had a knack for anything that grew in the ground be it vegetables or flowers and loved being outside tending to them.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Fant, as well as her sister, Phyllis Brahm. She is survived by her son, Duane (Michael) Fant, her granddaughter, Elizabeth Fant, her sister Dorothy Abts, and her brothers Lionel and Robert Bening. She was so loved by all who knew her, and she will forever be in our hearts.
