Obituary for Dale Ray Robertson

Dale Ray Robertson
5/2/1950 – 11/13/2021

Dale was born in Sacramento, California on May 2, 1950, to Allan and Alberta Robertson. He grew up in Fremont, CA and enlisted in the US Navy in 1970. He retired in 1993 and returned to college to get his degree in Mechanical Engineering and continued to work for the government Until 2000.

Dale absolutely loved Whidbey Island and purchased his property in the 1970’s and built his legacy on the island there. He was well known in his neighborhood, always being willing to help all whenever anyone needed anything. His passion for the outdoors consisted of fishing, hunting, and traveling. He was always in awe of any river that he saw.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alberta Stoneberg and Allan Robertson.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Robertson of Greenbank, WA, and his children; Deanne Lamar of Silver Springs, NV, Candy Mechels of Coon Rapids, MN, Steven Robertson of Yachats, OR, and Allan Robertson of Sacramento, CA, and his stepchildren; Brian Haugen of Milwaukie, OR, Kim Whilatch of Bothell, WA, and Erin Telford of Hemet, CA. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Foster of Fremont, CA and Cheryl Fitzgerald of Las Vegas, NV.

Anyone that knew Dale will always remember his sly grin, his laughter, and his great big hugs. Whenever he met someone new, he would apologize and tell them he was sorry, but he was a “hugger”! He will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him
