Blynn Calvert Cooper
3/21/1925 – 7/18/2021

Blynn C. Cooper, World War II combat veteran passed away 7-18-2021 at 96 years old.
Born to Marshall Blynn Cooper and Genevieve Lillian Schellenburg 3-21-1925 in Florence, Oregon. He grew up on the west coast of Washington and Oregon along with his younger brother, Gene. Blynn graduated high school and attended St. Martins college in Olympia, and the University of Washington in Seattle.

Son of a US Coast Guard officer, Blynn was an officer in the US Merchant Marines commanding ships in the Pacific during World War II. A most memorable time personally and in history.

At 18 he met Wilma Darlene Woodfin, an impressive pretty 15-year-old girl. Marrying at 21 and 18, Blynn and Wilma knew each other 75 years and were married 72 loving, hard-working, adventuresome years until her passing 7-7-2018 at age 90. They had 3 daughters: Patricia, Teresa, and Rena; 5 grandchildren: Grant, Clark, Brenda, James, and Christie, 8 great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 70+ years, enjoyed the water, boats, piloting glider planes, art, and watching sports.

Over the years Blynn was a military veteran, a Seattle police officer, a dairy farmer, an owner/fisherman of boats in Australia, Alaska, and Washington, then a manager for the Port of Seattle in commercial fishing before retiring in Anacortes, Washington.
